In Clementine Gets UNSTUCK!,<\/strong> Clementine is a smart and sunny third grade student who always has so many exciting thoughts and ideas, which usually help her find answers to big questions. But sometimes, her brain gets really busy. Too many thoughts and ideas ZIP in all at once, ZING around and TANGLE UP, so Clementine can’t think clearly and can’t decide what to say or do. She is left feeling STUCK.<\/p>

This creates frustration and problems, but also makes Clementine more and more determined to find a solution. Clementine explores some unique “fix-my-thinking” strategies, which are not successful.<\/p>

Finally, at school one day, she learns a simple wellness exercise from her school counselor. And it works! Her thoughts stop ZIPPING and ZINGING. They UNTANGLE. Clementine is now able to speak about and take action on her thoughts and ideas. She is UNSTUCK!<\/p>

One of Clementine’s newly clear ideas is to start a club. She names it, “The Kids Can Club!” For now Clementine truly believes that kids CAN face challenges, find solutions, and share these solutions with others. The club will help kids, animals, the environment and even grown-ups!<\/p><\/div><\/article><\/section>

I loved <\/span>Clementine Gets UNSTUCK!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

the minute I read it because of its introduction of basic good mental health practices, presented in storybook form. Clementine\u2019s story supports the fact that internal challenges are real and can be addressed by the individual and by seeking outside help. Normalizing this concept is something we stress with a client in beginning therapy. Recognizing one\u2019s internal discomfort and the need for it to be addressed are important first steps.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>All three, normalizing, recognizing and taking action are appropriately addressed in this book on the level of the young reader. I believe <\/span>Clementine Gets UNSTUCK!<\/span><\/strong> will help readers see themselves in the story and become aware of, accept, and address their problems more effectively at an early age as well as set a healthy pattern for the future.<\/span><\/p>

Clementine Gets UNSTUCK!<\/span><\/strong> is a fun read with a serious and helpful message. The book introduces readers to the idea that it is by relaxing and not trying so hard that we are able to find answers. This is difficult learning at any age. I applaud the authors for addressing this concept in a book for young children. How wonderful it will be for them to learn and practice this slowing down now, rather than in adulthood when their patterns are set and harder to change.<\/span><\/p>
